Every child deserves to feel safe, included and welcome within our club environment. We're asking parents and caregivers to take a few minutes to chat with your kids about positive behaviour and looking out for one another:
- Be kind and respectful - even if someone isn't part of your group.
- Keep your hands to yourself - hurting, threatening or intimidating others is never okay.
- Respect "stop" and "leave me alone".
- Don't become part of the audience - watching, laughing, filming or otherwise encouraging can make bullying worse.
- Be an upstander - get an adult, check someone is okay or help them move away.
- Speaking up isn't dobbing - if you or someone else feels unsafe, tell an adult.
We know our club environment are busy places, with parents often playing, coaching, umpiring, volunteering or helping out elsewhere. We don't expect anyone to have eyes on their kids every second, but we do ask everyone to remain mindful of where your children are, what they're doing and who they're with, particularly our younger kids.
Regular check-ins and appropriate supervision are important, even within enclosed playground areas. And where we can, let's all keep an eye out for each other's kids as well as our own.
It takes all of us to keep our club safe, positive and welcoming place for our little Rangers.
Be kind. Look out for each other. Speak up.
